Enlargement Begins with God

R Rev. Dr. Sam Edem October 3, 2026 2 min read

Key Scripture:

Psalm 75:6–7 (KJV) — “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

True enlargement begins with God. Human effort, connections, education and opportunities may contribute to progress, but lasting and purposeful enlargement ultimately depends on God's providence and grace. Scripture consistently points us away from self-glory and toward the God who opens doors, gives increase and establishes the work of our hands. 1 Corinthians 3:6–7; Deuteronomy 8:18; Psalm 127:1.

Because enlargement begins with God, our first responsibility is not to chase greatness but to seek Him. We must allow His Word to shape our desires, His wisdom to direct our steps, and His Spirit to guide our decisions. God may enlarge us in ways we did not anticipate, and sometimes He prepares our character before He expands our territory. Matthew 6:33; Proverbs 3:5–6; James 1:5.

Therefore, place your future in God's hands and faithfully steward what He has already given you. Do not despise your present season, and do not force doors that God has not opened. Trust His timing, obey His Word and remain faithful. Zechariah 4:10; Luke 16:10; Psalm 37:5 The God who begins the work is faithful to lead you into everything He has purposed for your life. Your enlargement will not be merely for personal achievement, but for His glory and greater Kingdom usefulness.

Prayer Points

  1. Father, be the source and director of my enlargement.
  2. Give me grace to trust Your timing and leading.
  3. Establish and enlarge the work of my hands.

Prophetic Declarations

  1. My enlargement is secured in God's purpose for my life.
  2. I will not force doors; God will lead me into the right ones.
  3. What God begins in my life, He will faithfully establish.
